DPS Raipur provides an educational experience that engenders excellence and all-round development, in an environment that fosters the joy of learning. The school’s motto ‘We value our values‘ encapsulates its aspirations and the enormity of effort required to imbue value in every facet of the school’s endeavours.

The quintessence of excellence has permeated into every element of the school, be it the architectural design, curriculum structure and pedagogical innovations, selection of staff and their professional development, student admissions, co-curricular life, international linkages, service to community, parents’ participation, and so on, a school that celebrates the culture of excellence and is an embodiment of values. I am sanguine that the DPS Raipur education will aver the scholars’ present continuous and future perfect.

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. There is universal agreement on the importance of receiving an education. However, what is the purpose of that in which we have received? At DPS Raipur we believe in some universal truths. Namely, that education is about the improvement of society, an improvement accompanied by the continued upliftmentof all the citizens within our country. There are countless evils in this world from war, corruption, and ill health to aggression and intolerance. Education is the balm needed to cure all of these ills.

To use Sydney J. Harris’ oft quoted phrase ‘the purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows’, and imbibing our entire student body with our motto ‘We Value our Values’, we believe that education is more than just simply academic and extra-curricular achievement. It should be our duty as educators to inculcate into our students moral values which prepare them for their lives after school. These values should help to bring about the improvement of our society as a whole. The values by which we live our lives are of greater importance to humanity than the pieces of paper that refer to the degrees we hold. We need to provide children with an environment where they can develop good habits and grow in strength of character.

At DPS Raipur we have constantly strived to imbibe students with these morals. This has paid dividends, with the school now being officially named the best day school in Chhattisgarh. With this legacy of success already firmly established in only our quindecennial year we can continue to build onwards and upwards, and it is my dream to see the school go from strength to strength. Thus, I look forward with great excitement, to many more fruitful years at DPS Raipur.
